Slug & Lettuce pub........tried it today......VERY GOOD :)

The nearest Slug & Lettuce to us is on the far side of town.....so a pain to get to.
However.......as they do 50% off all food on Monday's we forced ourselves to make the trip (I know, life's hard for us old retirees )
We had a single starter between us followed by 2 x 10 oz ribeye steaks with peppercorn source.
I forced 2 pints of cask....Old Speckled Hen down my neck while my OH had lime & soda.
Everything was good/ Service was excellent. Steaks were the best we have had for a long time.
£23.00 for the lot.
It was so good I went on-line and told them so!!
I am sure others will have been with negative results but this has been our experience.

I was/am fortunate and retired a 63 (68 now)...........never missed working on single minute----and I had a good/interesting job that took me all around UK & some of Europe.
Grab it and enjoy it a.s.a.p. is my advice.

Earlier this year Mrs SG and I headed out for a bike ride round Cheshire on a Monday bank holiday. After spending 10 miles or so looking for a 'cake stop' we finally gave up and stopped at the next place we found... A Slug and Lettuce.

I went up and ordered two breakfasts. When it came to pay the bill sounded too cheap so I queried it to make sure the order as correct. Much to my surprise the 50% off food even applied on bank holidays. Made it taste even better

Bloody slugs! They've eaten more than half our lettuces and cabbages.

I tried a couple of Oysters in Scarborough once.Hated the things.I couldn't swallow them fast enough.I finished up with a stiff neck.
