Well, we've had snow and ice threads...

Went out on a deliberate variety of local roads/paths to see how my new marathon winters performed.
Clear road. Noisy (enjoyable in a bubble wrap bursting type way though) similar speed to the marathon+ they replaced.
Untreated road with compacted snow. Ace. Cars creeping along slowing me down.
Cyclepath. Partial gritted, mixture of slush and ice. Very lumpy and slush, slush, slush then a hidden lump of ice throwing the bike off line. Would have been walking on the M+
Think I'd rather have the untreated road as it didn't have the random lumps in it.

Slush,yes ! Its the stuff that wedges it's self to the underside of my poor Rockhopper ! That and the salt mixture makes it look like it's been up Rivington on a very wet,muddy day out !!!!!

But yes, slush can be horrible, hiding all sorts of nasties. (Especially dog doings when you step off the bike )
