You've reported it to the Police, right?
Because refusing to supply insurance details is an offence.

Are you a member of a cycling organisation

LeighDay are acting on my behalf, but that's through British Cycling. I don't think they do 'walk ins'.
@jefmcg is very scathing about Slater & Gordon, who are CTC's solicitors, but I think some on here have had joy

Otherwise, Google/look in the back of a cycling mag and then read reviews. No win-no fee are all sharks though I expect  It isn't guaranteed that they'll take your case but if you have witnesses/vid, that will help

They were a brilliant company to deal with imo. Sorted out my claim to my satisfaction. I think it's the same with any company really, you hear the good and the bad.

If it's only £160, my first instinct would assume the driver is an honourable person, collate your receipts and send him an letter.

Don't do this immediately, make sure you have no on-going physical problems.

(@ianrauk or @vickster may have a very different opinion, as they have been through this process. I would listen to them. I may have a different opinion too, in a couple of weeks as I am about to claim a similar amount. I have the advantage of having had the police in attendance so I have her admission; plus I'm assuming she's going to feel she got off lightly, as I was taken to A&E in an ambulance.)

Anyone who read my accident report will recall that initially I had no intention of claiming for personal injury. However, my injury led to a leg infection and surgery to protect the leg, and I am still undergoing physio. I have just come home from a ridiculously painful session! This accident happened in mid February, and I reckon I will need at least another 1-2 months of physio. Indeed, I have leg pain at some point every day still, not to mention a lump, scar and bruising.

I was also 3 weeks into a new job and being in my probation period, I was not paid for the 8 days I was off sick (2 days after accident and 6 days for the surgery), leaving me around 2k out of pocket. Luckily I have a now understanding boss and am able to fit physio and appointments around working from home. I also appear to have some sort of post traumatic stress which I need to work through.

The decision to claim has to be based around personal circumstances, I am not doing this out of any sort of revenge against the driver, but to get back what I have lost. I am not out of pocket for medical treatment as I have private health insurance, but my insurers will make a claim for their costs (I dread to think what those are)

The driver sorted out repair to my bike through a relative

Do what you think is right for you
