Had a small crash yesterday. Only got back from a month long holiday () so decided I needed to do a few miles, went out with Mum on a longish route that we've done plenty of times before. It's a nice route as it's not that busy and there are plenty of countylanes.

Get to one bit, I can hear a car coming and see there aren't any passing places. I get, nearly to the end of the last passing place and the car comes around the corner so I decide to stop rather than try squeezing past. I didn't quite reaslise how close my Mum was behind when I did this, as she ended up ploughing into the back of me and ended up on the floor. I stayed up right.

Important things first, her bike is fine! Other than a bit of scuffed bar tape....secondly, her cycling gear is too....and finally she's just got a sore hand and probably some bruises today but other than that she's fine. We can't have been doing much more than 10-13MPH so not that serious.

Stopped for a few minutes to check everything over...the few cars that saw all gestured if she was okay which was nice, then just laughed about it.

Glad you're both OK! I now I shouldn't but there's something about that type of crash that makes me smile

Yeah, it was quite funny after when she tried claming "it's was 3 of one, half a dozen of another"...."no it wasn't, it was your fault for tailgating...only a fool breaks the two second rule"....though to be fair it could quite easily have happened the other way around.

50/50 there......you should have said you were stopping suddenly - especially when riding together, and she should have been slightly to the side. Nothing wrong riding closely together, so long as you both know what you are doing.

Glad she's OK....

Would normally say, but it was just a quick decisison. Both okay which is all that matters.

Did much the same with my youngest a year or so back...ambling up thru' the woods, got a wee bit too close, she suddenly stops, my front wheel slightly overlaps her rear and I have a clipless moment. Fortunately my fall was cushioned by a big patch of nettles...

Sorry thomas but mums can do no wrong (unless they are Rose West or someone like that). Get her a big bunch of flowers 'for no reason'.

I'm not sure if I've done something, or if I put my foot down funny when it happened as my left foot/ankle is quite painful when I walk/move it up and down. Hopefully a few ibuprofen will sort it out.
