Needing some advice on online diary system, the better half is going to have to move to online diary so that her retired mother can do her diary/answer calls etc. However it would have to work so that she can also see what is getting booked in. Been searching google and a multitude of stuff online, but actually what sprung to mind was MS Office 365. Now starting to think google calendar might be enough ??

We use Google docs at work to share a couple of marketing plans and spreadsheets which works very well and are free.

Also if you have Google mail addresses you can link you business address into them and reply using a business email. Everything in one place and automatically updates as and when someone uses it. The calander can also be synced and shared to others giving a live update.

Was thinking either now ?? I use Office at work albeit and it works great but we are a huge company , but for cheapness ( cost not a huge issue ) Google Calendar would work just as well I suspect ?

Our mob at work use Office, the secretaries add appointments and shuffle things about, edited by the staff. All updates to everyone at the same time.

I just stick a few post it notes on the desk next to the keyboard:smile:

Office.

But I really like using my Filofax, it's nice to actually write things down, play around with the sections , scribble in it.take it to meetings and look important and it doesn't need a plug.

Yep she currently uses a Diary but now finding ,answering phones and booking people in quite a challenge, its getting busy ( good thing ) so out sourcing to Mother in law lol would be helpful ! However needs eyes on her appointments so something online seems best fit.

A calendaring server with apps on phone and computer. I'd avoid the Google and Microsoft offerings because their privacy policies suck a bit.

TeamUp calendar. I installed it at work and its really simple, lots of different calendars can be created at the same time - available to multiple users simultaneously, and very flexible once you sit down and work out what you want it to do

Sogo, Owncloud, whatever it's called that split off of owncloud a while ago... some searching and Wikipedia browsing should find the current options.

Edit: I'm not wanting to be unhelpful but I hesitate to go into more detail because the mods here seemed rather, uh, "enthusiastic" to slap my wrists for advertising if I mention the excellent things I use in my day job, or wax too lyrical about the type of corporation

Thanks will take a gander another option is the existing patient record keeper she already uses ( trying to digitize as much as possible ), there is an upgrade path to an diary keeper etc .

Ah the series 3, they were great.

I use Google calendar to share my cycling appointments with SWMBO. It just means that she doesn't have to ring me up to ask what I'm doing any particular weekend cos it shows up in her own calendar.
