I run my lights nearly all the time I'm on a bike, so typically about 6 hours a week (across 2 bikes).I haven't yet changed the non-rechargeables in either of my Smarts, which I've had for over a year. I think that is Potsy's point.![]()
Alkaline batteries, which came with the lights, lasted about 2 months. NiMH ones do about the same but I routinely change them round once a month, that way, apart from one brand, they go on working forever.
I overbalanced getting off the bike at the leisure centre and it had the weight of the bike plus me crushing it against a Sheffield stand. A chunk of its plastic case got broken off, and although It still works no amount of silicone grease is going to keep the water out now.
That one has gone 20 months without being nicked or getting lost or broken so not too bad, and I like the Smart lights well enough to have bought another.
