Smart phone replacement battery

I've been using the same charger, the laptop, and the car, and the effects were the same.
Nothing has changed in my usage, nor in the charging, and the phone is still running for many days on a charge now.
I am waiting, with some trepidation, for the moment when it suddenly dies, or goes bang!

I suspect you will follow the same pattern mine has done.
I go for a period where it is fine and lasts all night without issues, and days and days...
then all of a sudden it will stop being 'happy' and die overnight.

My solution to this has been to deep charge it periodically - (leave it on mains charger overnight - guarentees the alarm clock in the morning!) and it has been happy for a while now.

What I actually suspect with mine is that there is an app that is not closing down properly and 'releasing' the GPS and using all of the battery that way (coupled with a non-oem battery that has been in for nearly a year, the old one died a painful death). For me the issues time in with when strava is not working on the iphone - useful if anythign for telling me what road I actually cycled when I go out - I tend to just cycle rather than worry about where I am!

I have the tiniest member of the Xperia range (the Ray) and have had it charged up, but left in standby while I use up the last of the credit on my old phone. I switched the phone into 'airplane mode' so it uses the smallest amount of power possible without actually switching it off. I'm quite impressed - it still has 75% power left after two weeks! (I bought the phone on eBay and assume that the battery is well over a year old.)
