had to dive in man cave last night to find a spare extension lead for some Christmas decorations , i knew what draw they were in and could nt believe the smell from that came from the draw upon opening it last night .

so have just spent half an hour try to find source of smell , well in the bottom of said draw there was a plastic bag full of new sealed sink waste pipes that were soaked in a pale brown solution that stunk of cat / horse urine kind of smell in fact the bag fell apart when lifted up out of draw leaving the base of the draw soaked in said fluid .

boy it stank

strange thing is we dont have a horse and no cats go in garage

About a month ago I heaved the old lounge carpet, all 24 ft by 16 ft of it, in the back of my old KA and took it down the tip, the car has stank since and nothing will shift the smell, I'm still trying to figure out why, the carpet didn't smell when I lifted it or when I put it in the car.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Could be rat urine.
Careful, as it is deadly to humans if it enters the blood stream, through a cut or similar.

Weils disease it is clalled. You have to be careful if you go fishing. SOme anglers leave lunch meat cans on the banks. Rats wee in them. Others pick the cans up and throw them in the bin and bang Weils disease.

A pub manager died here a few years ago: the cellars of the premises are at river level, rats galore in the area, he changed a beer keg, he had a small cut in his hands

Better not ride your bike and drink from your bottle if worried about weils disease. Lots of crap of country tracks and trails. Not dead yet.

Weils disease is no joke. Coming from a farming background, I can think of several people who have died after handling old straw bales with cuts on their hands.

Quiter a few anglers have died and not just anglers. People, good samaritans simply picking up other peoples litter can be infected.
