I couldn't get past the quote in every paper: toxins 23 times higher than a smoky bar.

Turns out that was with the window closed which nobody does.

It's only by reading helmet threads that I was looking for their inflated claims to further their cause. They are more politicians than doctors.

It's disgusting! The BMA tells us not to eat more than five eggs a week. Parents who force more of these lethal ovoids into their innocent kids should be locked up. Their kids will be far better off in HMG's "care".

Yeah...right.

And the last thing we need is someone driving having a coronary!

Later on in life, my Gran (who was a lazy sod anyway) had severe heart trouble, and on one occasion she had a heart attack, and right there and then, proceeded to drive to the hospital to be seen by the (no doubt) very surprised doctors.

Then again, this was the woman who, on being caught speeding one time, said to the the Police that she was on water pills and was desperate to get home to go to the toilet (all lies).

Apparently they let her off

Now most of that has gone away, and I'm glad.

I used to care deeply about smoking, but now, with everyone shivering outside, fag in hand, I quite frankly couldn't give a flying fart what these people do any more, because they no longer not bother me, and I like it that way! :becool:

Keep your smoke away from me you bunch of total cretins!

Conversely, whilst in Italy recently, the cigarette and cigar smoke I smelled in public places was something of a novelty to me, because I just do not smell it regularly any more.

I think banning it in cars is over egging it

Much as I LOVE the smoking ban, I don't see how it is going to be adequately enforced in cars.

Yes, but what about all the toxins/sh*te from all the other cars breathed in with the window open.

I don't care if someone wants to smoke but I would prefer it if they did it indoors and not when I have to share air space with them. I'd also rather they didn't smoke in cars if driving as it means they take their hands off the wheel, eyes off the road and flick the butts in the street.

I think if someone flicks your butt in the street then you have every right to complain.

Eggs are fine now, you're allowed as many as you like - good news for me because I need a minimum of 5 to make an omelette

Last time I was somewhere where people smoked was in a bar in Dublin about 13 years ago, the smoke was so thick that your eyes watered and our clothes stank for the rest of the weekend. Terrible, so it was.

I remember the days when I was a small child in the first half of the 1980's in London - the non-smoking area in a restaurant was often one table in the corner, or often they didn't have a non-smoking area at all. And that was central London - Piccadilly circus! How things have changed! For the better, I think.

I don't think people should be forbidden to smoke outside or in their own cars, but one thing I absolutely hate is when you're in a car with a driver who smokes - you just can't get away from it, and YOU'RE the one who ends up smelling like an ashtray.

first thing I used to do when I got the tube train to London for work in the mornings was to light up a rollie....

As a smoker it annoys me that many places now do not have bins with ashtrays in town centers.
What annoys me more is the residue....

Any smoking area is littered with fag ends, and the roads are no better.

Even worse is when you get them dropped out of cars. I have twice been burnt by this.
