Aren't they great ! ! !

Made this discovery over the weekend.

Instead of the usual pure orange juice had one of these over the latter half of the ride (4hr ride). with some water.

Its like a foodstuff with just the correct thickness/density !

One of thee best things on the market for endurance sports ! ! !

Just watch it if you are counting calories though! I got really into making smoothies and they kept getting more elaborate in composition and therefore bigger in volume. At first I just thought of them as healthy drinks but then I stopped and asked myself - "Just how many calories are there in..."

apple + banana + grapes + strawberries + cherry tomatoes + natural yogurt + soya milk + ginger + ...

The VeloWeb smoothie recipe:

1 banana
1/4 cup of berries or fruit (blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, peach etc.)
1 cup of almond or soya milk
1/4 cup fruit juice
1 scoop of whey protein powder
1 tblsp of flax seed oil
dash of cinnamon, dash of nutmeg

Blend.

One caution: This will carry well on the bike on cool days, but don't try keeping for long on warm days ... you'll get a nasty surprise. Sometimes small seeds will clog the mouthpiece. Choose fruit accordingly.

P.S. Who counts calories? Ride more.

Replace the almond or soya milk with quinoa 'juice' (it's milk in the same way that soya milk is) and you'll have a protein-ricj recovery drink too ;)
