How has everyone got on with all the snow, I've had a nightmare. Last night, coming out of work as I came around the corner (I wasn't going fast), I crashed the bike and fell on my side. My elbow is all gashed and i'm all bruised down my side and thigh. Luckily I had the number of the local cab on my phone and got a taxi home and managed to get a lift from someone today.

How is everyone? No other accidents I hope.

no Snow in London. But 'ouch' I feel your pain. It's a little frightening coming off your bike. Not too hurt I hope. And more importantly, is the bike ok?

No - but we had the biggest snowflakes anyone could remember seeing 2 -3 inches (about 5 cms in new money).

Hope you are on the mend - you are actually supposed to report that the bike was ok before going on to the trivial matter of your injuries!

No snow this time. I used the MTB with tungsten carbide studded tyres when the bad stuff came down in early Jan...

Unless it's thick snow, it's lethal for most bikes.

The bike is fine! Scared to use it until the snow clears though, I'm clumsy without snow!
No shame in not wanting to ride when conditions are dangerous mrs fry.
I have missed quite a few days in the last few months because of the snow/ice,no point injuring you or the bike as you could end up missing lots more days or spending lots of money on repairs.

Backing up Potsy..... I'd not have ridden much this year, as i don't do ice (had some really nasty falls) and can't afford to fall off until my PI claim is sorted (had a word with my solicitor this week as the odd's are coming down)........so got studded tyres on the MTB for the first sign of ice...... they work....very well.

Ouch - hope all is ok. Can I suggest giving the bike a test ride before using it for your commute again- mrs RH knocked the rear gear derailieur out of line when she took a fall.

I rode home in the snow on Thursday, first time as I'd been avoiding riding with it before. I was expecting the wheels to slip from under me at any moment but it went ok. I'll give it a miss Monday aswell as they are predicting more of it.

I did a 35 miler this morning and despite taking extra care in the shadowed lanes one of our group had an icy off. Thankfully no injuries but a cautionary tale.
