Yes, I think that was my point!

The following Flood Warning will remain in force for two hours after the time of high tide. The high tide at Prestatyn is at 12:00 GMT on Friday 3rd January 2014. At Prestatyn the tide level is expected to reach 5.67 metres above Ordnance Datum. Wave overtopping at the promenade/sea front is expected to occur between 11:30 GMT and 14:00 GMT. The properties closest to the promenade/sea front are most at risk.
I think Matthew already mentioned it was expected to be about 3 metres (about 10 feet) higher than a normal high tide. He lives in a very flat and low lying part of the town so if the flood defences are breached the water will go quite a long way inland.2851280 said:Seeing as you have done all the hard work thus far, how does that figure compare to the normal mean high tide there?
I was going to stick the bikes in the car and move the car to higher ground. Even though my bike are in the garage and wont really go anywhere, I just want to make sure. My race bike is worth more than my car. Also, if you're car's likely to be swamped, move it to higher ground first. Without the bike in; that should be upstairs along with anything valuable/electrical.
I'm going to Chester today because we know it wont flood in the day (no high tide). When I get home I will keep an eye on the beach and make sure I know if we actually will flood.
Why not? The Environment Agency are expecting this tide to be 5.67 metres (18.6 feet) above ordnance datum (that's mean sea level not low tide) so it seams reasonable. Alert details here.2851303 said:Yes he has but 3m above a normal high tide is not credible.
Oh. Well the flood warning is for midnight tonight. That is when the waves are forecast to be the highest.Err high tide for you (with your realistically minimal biblical flood risk) is actually at around mid day?!
