Yup overshoes worth every penny. Found out that my jacket is not totally waterproof but still enjoyed it.

Unless you spend a lot of money most jackets will either keep you dry but you sweat so much you might as well not wear a coat or a showerproof that keeps you a bit cooler, i opt for the second choice.
Nicely soggy by the time i got home, you get used to it

I can do cold, I can do wet, I can do windy.
Just not all three at once.

Tonight was just wet, so I "boiled in the bag" in my nightvision. I'm soo tempted to get a gore bikewear or similar jacket.

I too got soaked, but at least it was warm (20 degC). I don't mind getting wet providing I can stay reasonably warm (which isn't too hard given the number of hills on my commute).

Actually can anyone reccomend any overshoes that work with SPDs and "normal" footwear like trainers?

My friend Andy swears by waterproof socks. Forget the shoes, and just keep your feet dry. Haven't tried it myself. Always end up pouring water out of my shoes when I get home.

Left work into the rain, miserable as sin.
A mile later grinning at everybody, soaked through but warm and sweating as I upped the pace. Joy.
Gotta love warm rain. :becool:

exactly, both commutes this week have had warm rain/drizzle. Shorts and short sleeve shirt for the commute this week.
