Congratulations to all the offspring who are reaching 18 & a much BIGGER Congratulations to the parents for getting them this far.

I've got another year to wait for my oldest to reach 18 but as he's 17 this year he is old enough to enter a half marathon and we're both signed up for the Chippenham half in September.

Last year was a bad one for us both in communicating and after telling me 'as far as I'm concerned, you're dead & nothing to me' he came with his sister & I to Chippenham whilst I completed the race and he came a mile or so into the route to cheer me on and make me run the last part to the finish telling me 'he was really proud of me'. Then promptly nicked my Tec shirt all competitors were given. Sorry that's a bit OT

Actually, thinking about it - I never did anything with my dad.

Yes my Dad never did that with me. Didn't stop me from becoming a raging alcoholic though!!:blush:

It is my 29th Birthday today (lucky me!) :birthday: so if I get lucky tonight as well, then I'll be 47!

Problem is, I'll be rowing in both Glasgow and potentially Greenock (I am looking into perhaps doing Coastal Rowing) tonight, so I'll need to be quick off the mark ....providing I stay awake for long enough that is!:laugh:

and make me run the last part to the finish

....whilst all you wanted to do was collapse in a small heap
