Well at least off the hills
I got a mild form of a frozen shoulder. Had a jab in it tonight which makes it now feel like Mike Tyson has tested some gloves on it. Doc advised 3 weeks of rest including cycling....Noooooo

You have my deepest sympathy. A frozen shoulder is a hateful injury particularly at night as you are trying to get some rest. Get well soon. You will recover it just takes time. I assume the jab was a cortisone injection which, along with rest and gentle physio, seems to be the only way to treat these injuries. Ri

Get on the bike. I was back on after a shoulder decompression after two weeks. No swinging off the bars though. No reason why you shouldn't ride but take it easy and sit when climbing.

Rule 5 applies here,
I was diagnosed with a frozen shoulder 7 months ago, i was told to exercise it.^_^

Fast and careful!
I got through frozen shoulder with exercise and Physio ,and was told it was ok as long as I kept it moving,my shoulder would go dead at night and would feel like a dislocation, but maybe after the jab it needs rest, and with vibration and shock going through wrists up to shoulders,I would take the docs advice

I really don't want to lose my cycle fitness so I expect I will ride, but instead will be looking to do a bigger weekend ride on flatter ground where I can just spin more away from the gradients I'm normally riding around here. They all require standing at some point to get up them.
I noticed it first when stretching to the bars on my motorbike about 3 weeks ago....just slowly getting worse and you are absolutely right @avsd , night time is the worst bit.

I know where you are coming from having had a wrecked shoulder for over 3 years. Keep it moving. Having a frozen shoulder will get worse if you don't, then it's the operating table.

It doesn't help that I'm pushing a mouse around for 8 hours a day with that side either. Cycling has helped me enormously with lower back trouble I got when in my 20s whilst lifting in a job. I'll just dose myself to the eyeballs, but will keep it moving. I think I'm just feeling the effects of the jab now

It could be worse...I could have Manflu ^_^

Apologies - I thought you were in your '20s' - given the way you enthuse about cars.

Heck no, I have a 4 year old Grandaughter. I'm often told I don't look (or act ) my age, but I certainly feel it at times ....I get a lot more gooey about 2 wheels than 4 if perfectly honest

I feel your pain... I've been off the bike for the last month with what has turned out to be tenosynovitis. It'll get better, you just need to avoid things that aggravate it (which sounds like the cycling and biking, from what you've said, alas!). Get yourself a turbo to keep your fitness and you should be back on the bikes (both with and without engine!) by Christmas. Sort of a Christmas present to yourself!
