Winegar for wasps; bicarbonate for bees.

It's a pity you didn't happen to have an old syringe lying about; I've had great success in sucking out wasp venom by putting the nozzle over the puncture hole and withdrawing the plunger. You have to be quick though before the venom spreads under the skin. Watch that finger for bacterial infection as well, though as it looks like a queen wasp, which won't have been messing around in animal poo etcetera. If it was a queen wasp emerging from hibernation, you'll have prevented millions of other wasps from existing.
I can see the sense in that but I have never owned a syringe!

This is more of a reaction than I normally get so perhaps there is an infection. I will keep an eye on how the finger progresses. I'll take another Loratadine tablet later.

******** Changing the subject altogether ... What is the weather looking like in Blackburn at the moment? (Assuming that are not currently away on one of your many business trips abroad.) I am bringing my bike back to Preston this afternoon and toyed with riding back to Hebden Bridge, but the forecast isn't very good.

Do I need to tell you? It's horrible like the rest of northern England. If you can wait until this evening I'll pick you up in the car and drive you to HB in exchange for a pint in the Stubbing Wharf. Otherwise I guess you can take the train from Preston to HB, can't you?

It's very nice of you to offer but I just realised that my legs are tired after 363 miles of cycling in the past week so I have decided to treat myself to a trip back on the train.

If you and your son fancy a hilly ride on Monday, come and join us for my Wharfedale ride from Hebden Bridge at 09:00. Details in the informal rides forum

Might do... we're doing a hilly 30 miler around Pendle Hill on Sunday as a tryout for Way of the Roses in August so we might be feeling lazy.

Maybe a desolderer

could be just as good as a syringe.
