On the first day of christmas santa brought to me..

...a letter from the police asking me to contact them urgently as some low life scum have smashed their way into my late mother's house this christmas morning and destroyed things

No...it doesn't fit the meter of the 12 days of Xmas either

On the plus side after the last hour of punching holes in the walls and taking it out on people, I have 3 cats who have leaped onto me to show their affection and how glad they are to see me return, and to say "I love you"

Then people ask why I seem to love animals more than I do people...is there any wonder?

Very sorry to hear that, and I hope you have a better time through the rest of the holiday.

A Kindle, a cardigan from Zara, Emu slippers, a two pound Lindt reindeer, silver sausage dog brooch, a Kokeshi doll, tea cup and saucer shaped cupcake moulds, and a padded envelope full of weird crap from Hong Kong. And I had a lovely day.

Something unusual this Xmas, a miniature Henry.

Battery powered and works, but not much suck

I saw those on the Maplin website recently. As I am currently working as a cleaner, I somehow expected some kind of Henry related gimmick, even though I don't actually use a Henry. Didn't get anything though.

I did however, get a nice Oakley jumper.

Indeed it is. The only catch is that I'm now going to have to sell my Contax G2 system so I can buy a couple of lenses for it.

Looks interesting Andy. One of my photography lecturers 'way back then' was a big M3 fan and used to carry his collection around everywhere and be so passionate about it!
You do realise that CycleChat will need a sub-section for you (and many other pro/enthusiasts on here) to display their 'serious' photographs in 2011 and beyond! (Go to it Shaun! )
I wandered into Selfridges earlier this month and had a 'try' of an M9...I then went and bought a lottery ticket, just in case. Didn't even win enough for a case...

And to Sheffield_Tiger - sorry to hear that news. I hope you find a bit of calm amongst all your feelings at the moment.

The Project and Dee, or something else?

Yep! It's been a long journey. I have the original Model Railway News magazines that covered 'The Project'. I was briefly the custodian of a well made Project while I prepared it for sale on Ebay on behalf of a widowed neighbour and I didn't have the spare cash to buy her deceased husband's lathe. I've had a lathe in my shed for several years but had too many distractions but now is the time:

Got the lathe
Got the instruction manuals
Reeves 2000 catalogue is in the post
There's the annual Model Engineer exhibition in London in three weeks time
I have some spare cash :-)

There's a bloke called Ken Rockwell who has a website where he reviews cameras. He claims that the M9 is simply the best digital camera in the world today. His argument - particularly the comparisons with the top Canons and Nikons - is compelling. Mind you, given the price of the M9, it wants to be good!
