I've got a giant defy 4 totally standard looking at a couple of upgrades- carbon fork and some wheels.

I was recently putting a new inner tube in my front wheel so i took the time to weigh it while it was stripped- 1.2kg  kinda felt this was a little bit heavy but not sure....

my choices of wheels are as follows

Pro-lite como £134.99 (2098grams pair)

Shimano RS-10 £94.95 (1844 grams pair)

Mavic Aksiums £162.00 (1795 grams pair)

or any other suggestions

I know it looks like an obvious decision but I've read mixed opinions about each...

any input?

I think you might find those weights you've quoted are for a pair of wheels ;)

1.2 kgs for a road bike front wheel ? That's gross !

even a 36 spoke handbuilt with a budget rim would come in around 1kg.

Suggest adding Fulcrum 7 to your list of possibles...

Ive looked at the fulcrum, but some online stores say the 2011 wheels are not compatible with shimano 8 speed so don't fit
