A representative came to my local Wethterspoons from the brewery, and at the end, he gave me these opened but unused samples as I had been talking to him about bikes! :

Still not had an alcoholic drink or a cola drink. It is starting to get boring

Hmm I'm having pudding after tea.... it may have supped a little orange liqueur...the bottle is now empty!! But that's eating rather than drinking so I'm sure that doesn't count

As is the case i have to have a drink every night. I don't think it's a craving more a habit. In the last few months i've been having around 2 bottles of beer a night. Before this i was on 3, 4 sometimes 5, but now after my second (and i don't always finish that), i've had enough. I rarely go to the pub now, With not working for the last 2 months i can't afford to pay nearly 3 quid for something i can buy in the supermarket for 1 pound. I'd rather save my money then buy something bike related, than spend it in a few nights peeing it against the wall like i used to do.

I decided there were really only 28 days in a month and opened a bottle of red after work yesterday.
I plan to follow it up with a bottle of cider later.

In the spirit of the event, and to assuage others guilt, and having avoided staying Sober for October, I will finish the bottle of Wolf Blass Chardonnay any minute now ..

I didn't but it was a significant reduction. I had a glass of wine with my Mum on her birthday, (a medicinal toddy that doesn't count), and a Bailey's last night when it was the 1st in New Zealand/Australia

I am now sitting with my first glass of wine that is just for the sake of drinking it! And yes I'm enjoying it!
