At max focal length in overcast conditions it should be a big help. Plus there's only £135 difference now.

ah - last time I was interested in DX lenses, the 18-200 was going for silly money because Nikon couldn't sort the supply chain out :/

Still, the Tamron is very good by all accounts, if you're looking to save some dosh. (You could put it towards a nice used F3 or F90x, and shoot full frame :sad: )
 
crimbo's looking good for me this year, my new bike should be built and ready for me mid december...a new all black seven touring bike with all the nicest jewellery...mmmmmmmmmmmmmm seven....
