Our expensive Neff just packed up - bearing failure after 3.5 years. When we had our kitchen done the place we went to couldn't speak highly enough of them. Best you can get, never let you down, blah blah blah.
We asked Neff if they thought 3.5 years was a good life span for their washers as we were under the impression that 10 might have been a bit better.
After much arm twisting they agreed to replace the bearing for free and just charge for the labour - only a fraction less than buying a new cheaper end washer with a 3 year guarantee.
Anyway Neff, Bosche and Siemens are all the same co I think, well worth avoiding - better off going down to your local river and slapping your smalls against some rocks so to speak!

You have to treat washing machine recommendations (or slatings) with a pinch of salt...
Almost everymachine we've had has been slated by someone...Hoover, they're cr@p... Hotpoint, bl00dy hell, i would'nt have one of them....Indesit, cr@p.......
All of these machines functioned fine for us, despite the warnings. Just goes to show, they're like everything else, some good ones, the occasional crud one.
That said....i'm not a lover of Bosch.
I brought an expensive larder fridge last year, it kept icing up. Engineer couldnt find anything, so we put up with it. Reluctantly, i brought another one, exactly the same (the internal space couldnt be rivalled)....guess what :B)

Friend of ours had a Bosch dishwasher...cr@p :biggrin:

I know i've just shot myself down....i'll get me coat

We had a Whirlpool before the Miele thing.
The Whirlpool didnt last long before it broke. Kept having new bits fitted, new drum, brushes and other stuff. My mum uses them so much that she just wears them out.
Shes crazy with her washing machine. We are scared to use it incase we break it!
Anyway, the whirlpool went a while ago on a sunday. It was leaking water all over, and then just stopped and wouldnt re-start.
By tuesday she had this new washing machine. She wanted it on monday!!
Wouldnt have another Whirlpool. I think it went around xmas time and she spent ages on the phone trying to get through to them.

Try asking a few of the people who work in the shops which ones come back. Sometimes they know nothing but you can pick up good insights sometimes. I remember being told that SMEG fridges were hopeless and far less reliable than the cheaper ones.
