I remember when I was at school in the 70's there was a partial eclipse and we all lined up to take a glance through a welding helmet that the caretaker produced for us.
I used my weldig helmet to look at the last one and also set up a theodolite, for lack of a telescope, to project the image for others to see.
Didn't get a chance to see anything this morning, too cloudy and too busy getting the cat to the vets.
