Solar eclipse

....just back from a cooler than usual cycle ride, thanks to a partial eclipse over this way. Had around a third of the sun blocked out when I looked - nice start to the day.

More spectacular was the one back in '99. Can remember all of us stood outside our Brentford office watching it grow eerily dark and birds all chirping loudly wondering what was going on.....

I remember that one. I was at Farthing Corner services on the M2 at the time. The eclipse enhanced it's horrific atmosphere and i remember the cold as it was a fairly warm day.

I saw an excellent sun over the moon in West Africa in the early 90s. It made a very warm evening seriously hot but that was spectacular especially as i was on the beach on the Atlantic coast relaxing after a 3 week trek through Senegal and The Gambia.
