Sausages ?!
The house we moved into back in April has solar panels fitted back in 2011. It still has a little over 10 years left on a very favourable Feed In Tariff. We get paid for each kW we generate, even if we use it ourselves, with a little on top for everything we export. As we’re out most of the time it is generating we’re buying back more expensive energy in the evening when solar drops of.
We’re in the process of adding batteries and heard today that our G99 got approved without any amendments. Install date is now in a couple of weeks.
Sounds great - we have batteries and they are great at helping you use electricity from the grid when it is cheapest
ATthe moment we have a "thing" with EDF where if we use less electric between 4 and 7 on weekdays then the next Sunday ALL our electric is free
so I just set the batteries to charge between 14:00 and 15:59 on week days and 22:00 and 23:59 on Sundays and it save us loads
does mean we have to spend Sunday washing, ironing and hoovering - but it means we have an excuse to not do it on other days!!

My current setup make changing suppliers challenging at best.
The property had a DTS system that was swapped out with a smart meter last year. I’m on a three rate tariff, day / night / controlled rates and have two MPANs. It’s the latter part that causes issues switching. Even my current provider can’t handle it properly and I’m on day 118 of an ongoing complaint that has been escalated to the energy ombudsman. It’s getting resolved very slowly but I hope to be in a better position at the end of it all.
The batteries will be a great help until in the meantime.
How's this progressing @CXRAndy ?

Will you renew some or all of the panels at the same time ?
