As per my previous posts, after a recent bike fit (and getting older) I am moving to a smaller frame size. I bought this bike for the frame with the intention of swapping over the higher spec components from my 2011 Secteur Elite (which is a 54 Medium). Unfortunately, when it arrived, due to some miscommunication it turned out to be a 56 Large not a 52 Small. I decided to keep it and service it as my Niece’s partner was interested but it is too small for him.

The archive suggests it is 2010 model with Shimano 2300 series group set. https://www.specialized.com/ie/en/allez-triple/p/23257?color=32938-23257
Triple 52/39/30, 8 speed 12 - 25 cassette.

It was very dirty, greasy/oily. Tyres perished and cables needed replacing – I was aware. Probably sat unused in a garage gathering dust. I have serviced as follows:
Stripped down to the frame and thoroughly cleaned.
Front axle bearings tight so cleaned out, bearing seats ok, new Weldtite bearings fitted and regreased.
Caged headset bearings ok but cleaned, regreased.
New tyres/tubes, brake and gear cables, new bar tape.
Bottom bracket is ok.
Chain is good – see photos.

Relubricated and torqued to spec according to Shimano/Specialized guides. The caveat here is I am only a competent home mechanic; I have no formal cycle maintenance training but I have never experienced a “maintenance induced failure” and nothing has ever fallen off any of my bikes.

I think it now looks amazing for its age and I doubt whether it has covered many miles?

Finally - I want to be clear that I am not “flipping this” for a profit. It was a purchase error but I have enjoyed refurbing it. Therefore, I’m asking roughly what it owes me, as follows:

Bike = £70
Panaracer Catalyst Sport 25mm Tyres x 2 = £40
Panaracer tubes x 2 = £8
2 x Shimano Brake Cables (£4.99 each) = £10
2 x Jagwire Gear Cables (£4.99 each) = £10
Easton Bar Tape = £10
Bill’s knuckle skin tax 😊 = £2
≈ £150
I have a pair of SPD pedals I can throw in if they are wanted.
Cyclechat member price = £140. Collection in person only please (Mid Suffolk - 10 miles North of Ipswich).
