I'm looking to buy an e-bike and came across this relatively new Italian supplier, 4bike.net. It gets only a 25% score from online scam detection sites, and its prices are rather low - although the bikes I examined seem to be end of line models. It would be helpful if readers who have bought from the site could report on their experiences.

Have you tried googling for reviews? The consensus is it's a scam. Took me 30 seconds.

If it's too good to be true, it usually is

The (Italian) named parent company on their website (Smarttek srls) hasn't filed any accounts since 2023 (also their start-up year) and according to one Italian Companies website, only had sales of €131 in that year and has one employee. There are other similarly dodgy looking sites citing the same parent company - a quick search gave ABI STORE (computers, phones etc.) and Soundsound (musical instruments, PA equipment).

ETA: I just took a look at the items for sale on their website - they sell more than SJS! Almost every conceivable brand and every spare part - 273 Brompton items (many unique Brompton spare parts) - and according to Brompton, there are no official outlets in Italy.
