At the risk of sounding a bit wet, I really think this video should be moved from this thread. Whilst I appreciate it demonstrates, and shows an example of what this topic is about, the language within it is probably not appropriate for a forum that very young people can access. After all we are not allowed to type the language that's being used on that video.

fortunately... children are individuals, not miniature versions of their parents. They are also capable of seeing fault in their parent's behaviour and making choices about their own actions.

I've seen many a little sh!t pop out of decent parents, and decent kids pop out of what one would consider scum.

I hate to admit this, but go back 20+ years to a town in Tyrone in the 80s and 90s and it could have been me, and boy! did I have a gob! I am not going to make excuses, just tell you that extremely rarely will it become anything more than mouth. I know ego makes it difficult, but just walk by, do not say a word, do not even look at them as you approach, pass or when you have passed them. The only way you can win is by not playing.

last night it came to a head walking back from said shopping centre, fortunately not with my kids. the abuse escalated, i ended up shouting my own abuse at them, afterwards i just feel stupid and i'm wondering the best course of action.
i was considering the next time this happens to film this on my phone, state clearly what is going on and head over to the local school and show them what their pupils are getting up to (every time they've been in uniform)

I wouldn't bother filming them - that could be seen as inciting them. But as they're in school uniform I'd report it to the school - direct to the head. Most schools won't be happy at the impression their students are making in the local community.

Whilst people can and do often go to far with these sorts of derogatory terms, there is also a true and real danger of going too far the other way and empowering the bad behaviour by giving excuses for it.

I'd personally report it to the school. In the past I've seen this be way, way more effective than anything else.

You can certainly report it as an ASB issue (anti social behaviour) to the police if you wish to do so - however our powers to deal with this are limited and the kids know this. Stereotypically, the sort of parents that these kids have dislike the police and are unlikely to respond well to advice from the police. You never know though, they could prove me wrong!

It might make them feel better but the attitudes projected by such a restricted vocabulary does little to address the problem and makes me more fearful for the future than a few gobby kids.

Frankly, there do seem to be some people out there that it would be better if they didn't breed, and who seem to me to be a waste of oxygen.. There are plenty of great people out there who deserve chances in life more.

My sense of justice works back to front. Have a go at rehabilitating murders, but persistent petty vandalism and theft warrants flogging.

Report her to the school. When I was a boy, they'd read out grievances the public had submitted against unruly pupils at assembly, followed by a riot act about school image etc. May do no good but you never know.

There are a few radge wee kids around where I live. I was walking home from the supermarket last week when a group of three nailed me in the back of the head with a snowball (an immense shot, the boy could be some cricketer). Slowly I lowered my bags to the ground and made my own snowball which promptly exploded over the trio. This resulted in a proper old school snowball fight across the street. Great fun.

They're not all bad!
