I know that twelve months after being hit in the Tour, Hoogerland still hadn't received any compensation. Does anyone know if he did in the end?

And what happens to these drivers?

We never/seldom hear of any court case or ban. They should be named and shamed (if, of course, it was their incompetent driving that causes these accidents and deaths, in some cases).

I'll never forget the grace with which Hoogerland conducted himself after that horrific incident in the 11' Tour - his words I figured were the words of someone damaged but focused, not wishing to attribute blame where it was very definitely applicable, and I sincerely hope he comes back from this likewise unlucky incident.

How farking unfair can you get. Best of recovery to him.

I thought being bumped into a barbed wire fence might have put him off but no, he comes back and keeps on going.

Only to be hit again and have a shoot load of busted ribs. Hopefully, he won't make it a hat trick.

He has plenty of luck, unfortunately the wrong kind! But a very open person who has the ability to think carefully before speaking, anyway he's a tough character too, and I wish him a speedy recovery.
