For anyone that likes watching a few head-cam vids on youtube...here is a compilation of some hated-scum-of-the-earth* red-light jumpers, silly drivers, and an epic colour combination from my ride to South London and back earlier (checking out one of the cycle superhighways) on this fine day!

Enjoy!

I put a few things you can improve on in the video comments. including -

at 2:50 you should have stopped.

at 3:00 just take it a bit slower and give them a loud and clear audible warning.

I had a silly cyclist going the wrong way on a one way system today. As I passed him I said "You're going the wrong way" to which he returned "Yeah, I know". He was a numpty.

When there are a lot of pedestrians milling about like that, it is nearly always possible to negotiate a path through just by taking it slowly and watching where people are heading. I find people tend to be cooperative so spaces will appear where people stop to let you through and it is a case of just moving carefully from one space to another.

Liked the vid Caimg, and your own cyclechat colour combo (bar tape and jersey sleeves) ;)

Id be too worried about some idiot blindly following a friend or the crowd and walking in front of me without looking.

No probs...it's the little things that don't appear to be problems for anyone that isn't a cyclist. Non events are major hazards for us!

Yeah this...looking back at the vid it seems like it's blind luck but you can judge where the small window of opportunity is to get through safely. Amazing on that stretch of road though how people happily cross in packs, regardless of a green or red light.

It's spooky isn't it? There does seem to be herd instinct for pedestrians crossing on red ped. lights. Earls Court Road is a lot like that. Absolutely no point in demanding your rights and getting all poncy about it. If you do, you will get nudged onto the tarmac by someone who wishes you no ill.

BTW, most of the cyclists on that clip were behaving like complete ***ts. Or were they heroes in the biking cause?
The former.
