I think we are extemely fortunate to live in South Somerset. 20 miles to the South coast 30 miles to the north coast .
Somerset levels flat as a pancake for miles with fantastic scenery .
All around some of the best hills to be found Exmoor , Dartmoor, Up the top Lynmouth with Porlock hill.down south Lyme Regis, Beer,

Thousands of beautiful postcard villages miles of quiet country lanes . Rivers, canals,

Why am i not out there cycling every single minute ?:biggrin:

Yeah roll up folks, go to Somerset to do your cycling, and don't bother with nasty, rainy Yorkshire.

Cough, ahem.

To be honest, even though I love the hills of Yorkshire, Lancashire and Derbyshire, I do sometimes miss having some decent flat rides round here! I'd have to head for York or Cheshire - not so bad if I wanted to make a day of it, but neither is convenient for a quick ride.

Somerset is somewhere I'd considered moving to if I ever leave here, for exactly the reasons you like it.
