Fishermen

Don't use that word in a letter to the Guardian. They're "fishers" over there, believe it or not.

They started using it in an article about the British sea fishing industry, despite their being only 3 females known to be working on the boats and despite them all saying "dont be so silly."

Fishermen are the scourge of rivers ...
A bit off topic but recent scientific research
Some fish feel excruciating pain for up to 20 minutes after catch, scientists find
Fish like the rainbow trout suffer 2 to 20 minutes of excruciating pain while they are harvested and killed for food, according to a new study.

The research, published in Scientific Reports, reveals the hidden pain of fish during slaughter and offers solutions to improve their welfare.

River I used to kayak on, rod fishermen were trying to organise killing the few otters on the river as otters eat fish.
