There are rats the size of cats in Birmingham, though nobody but journalists have ever seen them.

I have started to see brown rats with really thick bodies though. They don't look native to the UK,

Parakeets in Margate are common and spreading I believe. There are beavers on the river here, fantastic to watch. Came home the other day and there was a Cormorant sitting on the boat roof drying his winds.

Cormorants are native to the UK. Mainly the Atlantic Cormorant, but also the Continental Cormorant.

I've seen one that was the size of a small dog in L*ndon about 20 years ago. It was next to Blackfriars station, so right in the centre.

Bloody brown rats, coming over here... If you don't watch out, the local rats will be painting roundabouts and so on! 🤣

We have breeding pairs on a lake in South London.
Apparently they have been very successful at moving inland in recent decades.
It’s funny how some species thrive under pressure whilst others die out.

Cormorants are the scourge of rivers, over the last 20years they have decimated fish stocks and ruined many decent fishing areas

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
Cormorants are spreading because of the decline in the bear population. Balance of nature, innit.

The Common Cormorant or shag
Lays eggs inside a paper bag.
The reason you will see no doubt
It is to keep the lightning out.
But what these unobservant birds
Have never noticed is that herds
Of wandering bears may come with buns
And steal the bags to hold the crumbs.

Loads of missing links in [insert town or area of choice]. I think I'm far enough from the town now to say mine is Barrow (or Morecambe).

Seriously isn't cryptozoology more about the mythical creatures people claim to see rather than the animals not from these shores that are accepted as living in our countryside and towns..Nessie, the Lambton wormer, etc. Wallabies, muntjac deer, etc are all known escapees from private zoos in various decades or centuries over the years that survive.

You're right, but as cryptozoology is generally utter codswallop there's not much to say about it. So we ran out of steam on that pretty quickly
