What's your vote for best song of 2012?

Surprised to see Saint Ettienne alive and well. Sarah Cracknell must be about 104! Meanwhile one of the few highlights of my year was 16 Bit's 'Boston Cream', filthy bit of dubstep that reminds me of years gone by.

Terrific return to form by the latest incarnation of Dexys this year (I...er....saw then three times in concert in 3 diff cities this year ).
Not the best song on their new album IMHO, but this is the best "couple having a row in a song" song ever!!

Terrific return to form by the latest incarnation of Dexys this year (I...er....saw then three times in concert in 3 diff cities this year ).
Not the best song on their new album IMHO, but this is the best "couple having a row in a song" song ever!!

I've really enjoyed that album, although still not entirely sure if it really excellent or a bit cheesy!

THis is own fave track on the album and, if we weren't for the boy gedge, the best song of the year for me..

Yeah, great album, though MORE BRASS KEV!! would be my plea.
This (includes 20 seconds of Jools at beginning) is the best track of the album.
The one thing that alienates me a bit from this collection of songs is the fact that 'she' is much younger than 'he', and I can't quite see them as a couple. The other thing is, well, Kev's getting on a bit now, time to perhaps forget the idea of playing the field, and just get some Werther's Originals in.

Well, I don't get the time these days to 'discover' music as much as i used to. I liked this song. Maybe not the best of the year - as most of the others above are very good - but a happy, join-in kind of song.

And, despite receiving massive exposure via Olympics and sundry awards etc, Emeli Sandé. 'River' being one of them...
