it's very possible indeed that the lorry knew nothing about it and went on their way perfectly innocently

Maybe possible, but knowing the layout of the roundabout the lorry would have to have overtaken the cyclist, so I doubt it.

It's also very busy, so many of vehicles would have seen what happened. There in no board asking for witnesses, so I assume the Police know more than they are letting on. The entire area is probably the most covered zone of traffic cameras in the country

Let's hope the police's determination to stop the vehicle matches the driver's determination to get away ;). My thoughts go to her family, I'm sure she had one and her friends of which she probably had many. RIP.

Why don't incidents like this make national news? We had the Etape Caledonia cycle event make the national news today because some idiot scattered tacks on the road but I'm sure it only made the nationals because it could give ammunition to cycle haters or show cycling as being an inconvenience rather than as a valid recreation or means of transport as the roads had been closed. Many bulletins didn't even mention that it was a charity ride for MacMillan cancer, they just gave the impression that it was more selfish cyclists racing and taking over the roads.

It would only be 'news' for a few days until the regularity of these events all took over - effectively making them not news worthy, which is the current state of affairs.

Yeah, I saw that this morning too. It can be a nasty corner for people trying to squeeze down on the left to get into the ASL, and then get trapped when the lights change and cars/vans/etc turn right for the A102. Still, till we know more details, I guess it's best not to speculate as to what happened. The outcome's nasty, whatever the reason

I must have missed the incident by minutes on Friday. Went past there at about 5 and didn't see any problems.

Again, from Greenwich Cyclists this afternoon, reporting a Met Police press statement apparently:

"A post-mortem conducted at Greenwich Mortuary today, May 18 gave the cause of death as multiple injuries.

Although the victim has not yet been formally identified we believe we are
satisfied she is Adrianna SKRZYPIEC [30ys - 10.12.78] of the Rotherhithe
area."

A cyclist killed in a hit-and-run crash with a lorry was about to buy a house and start a family, friends said today.
Adrianna Skrzypiec, 31, died in Greenwich, south east London, as she was cycling home from work to one of her best friend's birthday at a local pub.
She was hit by a lorry at the junction of Woolwich Road and the Kent-bound A102 and died at the scene. The driver of the truck did not stop and is yet to be found by police.
Friends said today that Ms Skrzypiec had only been cycling for six months and had often complained about the stretch of road where she died in Friday's accident.
Ms Skrzypiec, who worked as a supervisor for fashion website Net-A-Porter, moved to Greenwich from Szczecin in the north of Poland six years ago.
Known as Adusia to her friends, she lived in Rotherhithe with her 37-year-old boyfriend, Tomek Koziolek.
Friends said today that Ms Skrzypiec and her boyfriend, who were keen supporters of West Ham United, enjoyed travelling and had also just booked tickets for a holiday to Brazil.
Weronika Olszewska, 32, who came to London with Ms Skrzypiec, described her today as an “incredibly lively and open person who loved life”.
She said: “Adusia was incredibly popular and had lots of friends. She only started cycling six months ago but she took her bike to work every day. She always told us she was scared when she was cycling on Woolwich Road, especially on the junction where she died.
“She was an incredibly careful cyclist. She always wore her helmet and she never went through red lights. We were all so shocked to hear about the crash.”
Ms Olszewska said Ms Skrzypiec's boyfriend was struggling to cope with her death.
“Tomek is devastated but thankfully he has a lot of Adrianna'a friends around him. The two of them loved travelling and had just booked a trip to Brazil.
“Tomek wasn't even allowed to go and identify her body because the injuries she suffered were so bad. Now we just want the driver of the truck to come forward. We can't understand how no CCTV cameras picked up what happened.”
She called for more cycle paths to be built in the area to prevent more deaths on the busy stretch of road.
“The roads just are not safe enough for cyclists. People on bikes shouldn't even be on dangerous roundabouts. There should be cycle paths around them so something like this does not happen again,” she said.
Friends said that Ms Skrzypiec's mother was too distressed by the news to travel to London and that the funeral will take place in Poland.
Police said today that they are still investigating the accident and are examining CCTV footage from local shops. They said the lorry that hit Ms Skrzypiec had a blue plastic or canvas covering on its side and appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
Members of local cycling group Greenwich Cyclists have placed a white-painted bicycle at the scene of the crash as a road-side memorial.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information that may assist police should call the Collision Investigation Unit at Catford Traffic Garage on 020 8285 1574.

that junction has never struck me as particularly dangerous - but, then again, the junction at Old Street (which the Babe and I pass in the morning) and the junction at Streatham Hill, both with 'ghost' bikes, don'e strike me as dangerous either. It shows, I suppose, that this kind of thing can happen anywhere.

And, yet again, a young woman getting run over by a truck. This isn't victim blaming, it's just that I have daughters, and, pathetic though it might seem, I worry about them.

I can't believe no CCTV caught the lorry. Everyone who lives in London is more likely to be killed on the roads than by terrorists, but this driver and vehicle are still trundling round London...

There are 10 cameras in the next 5 miles of the A102m, including 2 covering the first half mile

Unless the Police switch them off, at 5pm on a Friday night, or don't keep the recording, then they should have pictures. Just rather a lot of footage to go through, one questions if it is worth the effort considering it was "only" a foreign female cyclist.

Maybe they have better things to do such as fining the local dog owners, or moving on the local yoof ?

I can really sympathise with this after (realising how easily it can happen) having an incident with some idiot boy racer doing a dangerous overtake on Blackfriars Bridge at the south end of said bridge.

Crossing suddenly into the right hand turn lane (where I was waiting to do a right turn towards Waterloo) and sticking his foot on the pedal to overtake all the traffic to go straight on,the right hand turn lane was clear of traffic and for this reason I had been checking behind me at regular intervals until the lights changed to green..Somehow he missed me but it was a nasty moment as I was totally caught as he came from nowhere (middle lane?).As I didn't see who was driving as it was that fast for all I know Boris could have been driving.

Thankfully it's a rarity but when it happens I ask myself could I have done any better.(Possibly as I was caught off guard) The ride home was uneventful.

Apparently according to AC on the One Show last night there are 20,000 hit and runs every year where drivers have injured or fatally injured other road users .
