Southern Trains Olympics

Ok, I know officially I can't bring my bike onto the trains going to work, over the Olympic period. What's the craic unofficially, are guards letting people on trains with their bikes or are they enforcing the rules?

Got a complete shrug-off at Victoria at the end of last week. Outside rush hour, no practical reason for the ban. Staff were shouting at cyclists from the barriers because they love to say no. Eventually got a refund from the manager. Maybe you might find someone less officious but don't bank on it. And avoid them whenever possible. They don't want your custom.

Thanks, they have mine in the form of an annual season ticket.....so chances are I'll be kicked off?

There might be an element of luck - you never know, there may be a public-service orientated person at the gate - but our refusal was pretty unshakeable, I'm afraid. You can try but keep your options open.
