SPA Cycles Elan 725 MK 2 Frameset

Hello all. Does anybody have any experience of the above Frameset? If so, can you give your opinion of it? I'm looking for a new Frameset to build on and these very very inexpensive.

I've just bought one (built by spa to my spec/parts) very nice frame but a very long head tube which I need to get cut at some point)
Check the geometry carefully to get the right size (I went up to Harrogate to test ride for a couple of hours)

I have the Ti version, it’s a well thought out frame with lots of options. Mine has hydraulic disks and GRX gearing. I’d describe it as a touring bike that can do some rough stuff with the right tyres. I use it as my winter day tourer and for short multi day adventures, it’s very solid and allows a nice upright position.

Hopefully, you meant steerer tube - it would be a shame to inflict major surgery on such a nice new frame!

Thanks also for the links. I did do a search before I posted thinking there must be something on here with a similar thread, but couldn#t find anything.

A bit of a long shot; I plan on selling my Spa Aubisque soon. It's Reynolds 725 in 54cm and complete in good condition.

Might that be an alternative for you as a basis to build on?

And yes - that steerer tube really does need cutting.
