I used to use Shimano 525 pedals and some ancient cleats, zero float, and they worked perfectly for me, no discomfort. I bought some new 520 pedals thinking they were also zero float like the previous setup but now I'm thinking maybe they're not? Are there any new SPD cleats I can buy that will give zero float with these pedals?

I had some double sided 'cage' SPDs in the meantime but was always conscious of the float and found it distracting.

sh 51 cleats have 4 degrees of float , sh 50 cleats give 0 float but not sure you can still buy them?

increasing pedal tension and rotate the cleat on your shoe so that your foot sits correctly at the edge of the available float?

Yeah that's kind of what I read. I may have one SH50 cleat but the other is welded to an old shoe via saltwater corrosion.
