A bit random this. I’m going to Marseille this summer and my host is very keen we go cycling. Sadly on MTBs. I want to take my cycling shoes but I’m having a communication issue.

Anyone know how SPD translates in to French??

I would have thought Shimano SPD was a universal term worldwide? Why not just take your own pedals and a spanner along with your shoes, then there will be no problems?

They're still called SPD, the pronunciation isn't all that different either. My French would probably get me arrested, but its workable...just.

Just take your own pedals. That way you can be sure to get decent pedals, correctly adjusted.
