SPD-SL verses SPD?

As OP... I've made my decision (I think, possibly maybe................) I'm going to stick with SPD's but go for a far better shoe than I've had before with a bit more style rather than clumpy MTB ones...

Look at the Touring shoes.
RT81 and RT82

Northwave and Mavic also do some. The mavic look really nice imho.

you could always get a pair of shoes that can hold both of the cleats so you can always go back to the m520's.

Looks on my road bike and spd's on my mountain bike. If you want to try road pedals Planet X are selling Exustar Look compatible pedals for about £20 inc cleats iirc.
