Specialised Allez Sport Or Elite

Hi all im looking for a road bike to try and up the miles and fitness 40, 6'4 and overweight. I use a Claud Butler hybred for commuting to work but always fancied a road bike. My work has a bike to work scheme and these two caught my eye.
Would the sport be ok to get, or would it be worthwhile spending a bit more and go for the elite.
Any advice would be great as i havn't had a "racer" since my first real bike when i was a lad.

The Allez Sport and Elite are both great bikes. Typically, the '08 model Elite will set you back £799, with the Sport about £100 cheaper.
Come September the prices might drop as the '09 models come out.

Best advice is go to your local bike shop and give them both a good test ride.

I've got an allez 27 speed and an allez elite. The difference is marked.

My 27 is used for my 40 mile commute and the elite is for weekends.

I'd say go for the elite - it's great - those Zert inserts actually do work.
