Frame looks OK, but the spec of the rest of the bike seems a bit lacking if I'm honest - Tourney gearing and Promax brakes are quite a bit weak. Tourney is what I'd expect to see on a bike in the region of £400 - see the Oyama Ranger from Merlin Cycles as an example - not closer to £700.
For that sort of money I'd expect to see spec closer to the Trek FX3 disc - that's an alloy frame, 9 speed gearing, full hydraulic discs with carbon fork. It's a bit more at £775, but that £125 difference gives you incredible value for money compared to what's on the Specialised.

I enjoy the Specialized bikes I have, but agree that they are overpriced for the spec they have compared to other brands. So far, I have bought mine towards the end of a year when they were being reduced as the new bikes started appearing so felt I was getting better value.
Yep my pal had an allez( base model) and the components seemed a bit low end,but he ever had any issues at all,what swung it in buying was single front chainwheel. Instead of traditional compact if u want the styling u have to pay ,diff colour too ,every bike IV had has been black this looks nice ,as far as components go I won't b hammering it ,it's a lockdown tool to get fit on tracks and cyclepaths mostly ,should ride ok with they tyres ,last bike was 25 and i changed it to 28s the 42s should b like an air bed lol
