I love the Venge, I currently own a couple and am building another at the moment.
You have a mixed relationship and experience with the Venge. The bike is stiff and harsh is a way that the specialized tarmac could never be. The ride quality is one that at tines gets you checking your dental fillings.
However the bike is insanely quick, it turns in well, changes pace incredibly well and urges you to go faster all the time. There is no such thing as an average ride with a Venge, the grin factor of this bike is outstanding if you can live with the ride quality.
This bit I'm reluctant to say and it may make me come across as a bit of a bike snob, which I assure you is not the case. My intention is just to be honest to permit you to make informed choices. When the Venge was first released it was done so as a premium model. They never had a Comp or the other models which came later. Having ridden the entire Venge range I'm not personally a fan of the Comp as it has a lower grade carbon and lay up process which changes the entire feel of the bike. It is a little more compliant and comfortable, its a little softer and more timid, it no longer urges you to go faster, it asks if you think its OK to gain a little more pace, its heavier and lacks the same lively feel as the sworks venges and its specification component wise does not do it justice so upgrades should be expected.
IMHO the entire Tarmac range has far more to offer than the entire Venge range.
If your local to London your welcome to have ride of mine.
