in April I had an eye test

In May I ordered 2 set of glasses, When they arrived, I couldn't see (In all my life of wearing glasses, I have never had this before) I wennt back 3 times, in the end they offered me a re-test, turns out the first test was wrong

They sent off my glasses for new lenses, one pair was back in the 3rd week in May, I could now see, but they left pressure marks on my face, stop I stopped using them, I figured I'd take them back for a refit when my others arrive (was told it should only have been a few days)

Called every week, and as of today, I still dont have the second pair, I have been back with the first pair 4 times and not because of the other issue( Pressure marks, uncomfortable ) I cant wear them either

So, so far I've spent £200 on squat

I was going to write to head office and ask for a refund citing the fact I dont have time to keep going back to the store over and over again and the fact that pair 2 , so far, have taken a month and I STILL dont have them, but there doesnt seem to be the option of that

I have really lost confidence in Specsavers and ideally want to get tested and buy elsewhere but without a refund, I cant afford, so am I within my rights to ask for one? or should I just stop whining

What's the problem with contacting head office? Have a word with citizens advice bureau.

My wife got an eyetest and then a pair of varifocals from Specsavers. She couldn't wear them as they gave her headaches, but persisted for about a month. In the end she returned them to Specsavers and they gave her a full refund in the shop where she got them.

Went to Optical Express for a re-test and new varifocals and hasn't had any problem, but she did take a while to get used to varifocals for a while and did have to spend about £100 more.

Yes as you have done your best to cope with the glasses supplied and they haven't been right for you nor have they supplied the second pair as your contract with them.

If you write, put really big letters at the top, gradually getting smaller as you read down the page ;-)

Take them back, and reject them, ask for a full refund.

I had similar problems at SpecSavers a good few years ago. The glasses they supplied were no-where near my prescription, and the replacement pair were still not delivered over a month later.

I simply walked into the shop on a Saturday lunchtime, when they were nice and busy and asked the manager for my money back. I was quite prepared to have to argue the toss, but to be honest it seemed like it was a regular event for her....

I walked across the road with my prescription, straight into Vision Express, and had working glasses 2 days later.
Vision Express have had my business ever since, and that of all the family, I've never been back to SpecSavers and never will.

Why are you posting on here? All you've got to do is walk in to the branch and ask to speak with the manager. Explain your dissatisfaction and come to an agreement over the recompense.

As others have said, they've taken your money and haven't delivered. They're in breach of contract. Simply go and ask for your money back, then if necessary demand your money back. Demand to speak to the manager, and if you have any problems, ask for their name, saying you'll need it for your letter to John Perkins (Specsavers MD).

I use Specsavers - they are very reasonable as regards price but if you want a really good fit then I'd look elsewhere (No pun intended).

And on the other side of the coin. I had never ending problems with Vision Express, gave me a wrong prescription twice, found them to be very rude with a total lack of customer service and care. I walked across the road to Secsavers and they got it correct first time they got my business and have been happy with them since.
