Speeds in `Spain are a bit ambiguous... so unless TJ was on a motorway where it is 120kph, there are variable speed limits on other roads when overtaking, apparently you can legitimately exceed the 90kph limit by up to 20kph when overtaking a slower vehicle, but a radar trap would fire off at the higher speed, so it's down to interpretation...
TJ, if you haven't had any notices yet they may not be issuing fines at all...

Spain apparently has a maximum speed of 45kph [28mph] for bicycles and mopeds- how could you possibly know how fast you're going?... wonder if the police would really stop a cyclist and issue an on the spot fine for speeding?

I think The Jogger is getting off quite lightly here. Should The Driver from ImveryimportantanddriveaBMWandyoushouldgetoutofmywayChat popped on and admitted speeding several times then I'd like to have seen the reaction.

A friend of mines son was on holiday in Spain last year and assumed he'd be immune to getting caught for speeding. I think it cost him about 600 quid in the end.

Wouldn't it be fairer to wait until TJ knows whether he has actually speeded before we jump to conclusions... he doesn't know himself yet. It's possible that TJ may have happily passed speed cameras at the wrong speed for the limit, but until he receives anything about it he won't know.... unless he was blatantly speeding, in which case you're banged to rights TJ!

When I drove through France I passed under a bridge at the bottom of an incline and saw 2 police motorbike riders- they appeared to be pointing a camera at me. It had only just started to rain and I looked at my speedometer to find I was doing 78mph [125kph] coasting down the slope instead of 69 [110]... didn't know whether I had or hadn't been caught speeding but, thankfully didn't get anything in the post.

I'd be safe enough, unless of course there's a fine for going too slow!
