Obviously more expensive and you might need adaptor plates for your shoes but everyone who tries them seems to love them...

Speedplay Zero's are fantastic pedals IME.

I sold my stainless ones as I needed the same pedal system on both bikes I had and couldn't justify SP Zero's on the commuter. I do regret selling them but it was the right decision at the time.

TBH I keep thinking of selling my Dura-Ace SPD-SL's and going back to SP Zero's, but I never seem to get around to it

Cleats are expensive, but I never needed to change mine while I had them so I can't imagine they'd be a regular cost issue.

Yep love em. The cleat plate being metal means they don't wear down much when you do have to walk. Very easy entry and exit, but don't walk over anything muddy or you cant get you feet in, the dirt just compacts in the cleat and it just won't work, you have to then clean it out fully. Other than that little bug they're just fantastic. Oh and a touch of oil in the cleat spring every now and again keeps them from creeking.
