Just a cautionary note. Always check your cycling helmet for spiders.

Imagine my suprise when one started making a web from my visor, to my nose, across to my ear and back up to the visor whilst on a busy section of my commute.

I dont hate spiders, I would happily let them be as they do a grand job keeping other gribbly things out, and I imagine to him/her/it a moving catching web seemed a great idea. Just not a great fan of one crawling around on my face while I'm trying to negotiate Bristol morning traffic.

Yikes!

But it is spider season so this is a timely warning. I sometimes get them living in my car and feel so sorry for them.

Whilst at the coffee and cake stop on the Carlisle to Newcastle ride I looked across at yoav's bike to see a spider happily building it's web on his brake cables.

Dunno if it made it all the way to Newcastle.

Anyway, can't have been much of a spider. The one on my stairs the other day would have been wearing the lid, not sitting in it.

Know that. I had one in the bedroom the other week that the pint glass wouldnt fit over. I had to trap it there then go and get a pudding bowl. He would have worn my helmet too.

Must have been the bro of the one in my bath the other night. The trick is to pick it up by one leg.

Lots of spiders and webs about at the moment, we were watching tele last night and one ran across the floor then disapeared under the settee, I remember clearing and demolishing our old sheds a few years ago, there were some very impressive specimens running around, my comment after we'd finished was I didn't know spiders grew that big in this country.

Riding through the Common last week I noted the breeze quickly blowing something towards my face. I just about ducked in time to avoid a large spider.
