No spider can resist the sole of my shoe. I hate them.

Just a cautionary note. Always check your cycling helmet for spiders.

Imagine my suprise when one started making a web from my visor, to my nose, across to my ear and back up to the visor whilst on a busy section of my commute.

I dont hate spiders, I would happily let them be as they do a grand job keeping other gribbly things out, and I imagine to him/her/it a moving catching web seemed a great idea. Just not a great fan of one crawling around on my face while I'm trying to negotiate Bristol morning traffic.

My dad was stationed in the then Palestine just after WWII. He told me that he woke up one morning and went to put his boots on but heard a rattling sound from one of them, which he investigated and discovered a ferkin' big scorpion in there!

I like Skol

A Minging Manc...
Just had a wrestle with one of the 8 legged critters while sorting out the clothes on the bathroom floor ready for washing. As I was sorting stuff into various piles he fell out of one of my fleeces but quickly scurried back into the pile I was planning on washing first. I grabbed the item he had headed for and shook it so he fell to the floor again...... and then ran straight back into the same pile. By this time he was getting smart and obviously enjoying the sport, he wasn't in the item he had crawled under and I had to route through the entire pile before I managed to dislodge him again. He stubbornly headed back to the pile but I quickly kicked the whole lot away and growled at him. At this point he seemed to realise that his mums advice might not be true and I wasn't more scared of him than he was of me, I just didn't want to load him into the washer. He gave up and skulked off into a dark dusty corner to plan his next ambush....

of course any other (sensible) person would have picked up the garment first time around and escorted him off the premises using it!

Oh no, he is quite welcome to stay, just as long as he doesn't sneak up on me and shout BOO!
I'm getting the feeling someone doesn't like spiders......

Found one in the dog's food bowl yesterday morning - with the size of it, I'm not surprised that the Irish Wolf Hound we were dog sitting (now thankfully gone back to his 'owners'...) hadn't eaten his food!
Still I know it wasn't the same one as the monster that was escorted off the premises last night... that was a pint pot sized one... (we have 2 spider sizes depending on which 'kit' is needed to catch them - a normal glass or the pint pot....)
