Went to a spin class tonight for the first time in over a year. It was a good workout although there was someone smelly there which wasn't so good. Why would you go to somewhere you are going to be sweating profusely and not make the effort to be clean? Yuck!

I've worked beside a few people who stank, I don't get it either. I can only assume they've got something wrong with them and are both too lazy to wash and can't smell the stench themselves.

One guy who worked here was so bad it could make you feel sick. The women who worked near him complained about it told him to his face, gave him bars of soap, you name it. He never changed, insisted he was clean and had no idea what the problem was.

Incidentally, the same guy went on to drive busses after he left, rolled one over on the Heathrow slip and is now in jail for killing a couple of the passengers. It's a bit of a shame, he obviously has a few issues but he's a really nice guy.

sweating doesnt make you smell, stale sweat smells. the smell is microbes working on the sweat. the wrost thing you can do is apply antiperspirant

Gosh! How on earth do people live in hot countries where deodorants are unaffordable by the majority?

Er.... you should smell our drivers in Nigeria some mornings. They get up at 04:00 to catch a motorcycle taxi to work, there's no electricity so no water for washing though they might get a bucket of well water but well water has it's own unpleasant odour anyway. They certainly can't afford a deodorant on a driver's wage with 6 or 8 kids. Their food is spicy fish or bush meat with some pungent herbs thrown in so their sweat smells strongly anyway.... get the picture?

They're trying to do that but the British Government won't give them all the visas, for some reason.

I once had to have a word with a colleague whose stinky feet were making everyone vom. And there's a guy where i work now who looks depressed and smells badly of BO... I'd take him out and cheer him up, but I don't even know him... only see him about once a fortnight...

They just smell bad. Probably didn't help that some clever westerners decided to suggest they wear clothes when they had no need to.

I leave my gym kit at work during the week and bring it home to wash on Fridays. Asa result, the end of the week can smell a bit funky. A few weeks ago i was on the treadmills and David Walliams came and started running next to me. If he does another Little Brittain and there is a character about a smelly guy in the gym, you can all be pretty much certain that i was the insipration.

One of the hardest things to do, is tell staff they smell, especially when other staff come along and tell us to do something about it

I go along to the gym a few times a week but fortunately have not come across any smelly people

When I've had a good ride home from work and arrived at the gym, I'm sweaty. I don't do spin classes. I do static bike and treadmill. I know I'm going to sweat more but if I was going to a spin class, I wouldn't shower for the sake of some other peoples comfort. We're here to sweat, so get on with it.

I sweat, believe you me, I have to wipe the base of the equipment down when I have finished on it, not only the controls and handles etc., Sweat is good, but smelly sweat is not
