I still want a Spitfire, a Catalina and a 747, the three best-looking aircraft ever.
That's ace buggi, well done! What a great gift too ....Had a bit of trouble with the propellers but think I managed to salvage them. What do you think? It's for my brothers birthday tomorrow (well, today, after I've gone to sleep)

A 747? Really? Each to their own I suppose.
Nice painting and I wouldn't mess around with it any more; nobody will notice the lack of authenticity. The good thing is that it's clear that a lot of effort and patience has gone into it. You have a pleasingly simple, naive style that reminds me somehow of Beryl Cook, who flourished in the 80s or Alex Colville the Canadian artist. Best of all you capture the sweeping graceful lines of the Spitfire perfectly.
I live near Duxford, it's very similar here Spitfires, Hurricanes, the Lancaster and other stuff always flying over. We seem to get a lot of hot air balloons coming over as well. We had a Barbecue a little while ago and a hot air balloon came down so low they were able to shout down and ask us to pass them up and sausage.Living near to Biggin Hill, sometimes the air is thick with Spitfires.
Our local fete was beaten up by a Mark XXVI the other week. There were grown men with tears in their eyes and it wasn't the sun.
Catalina pretty?
Each to ones own. For me in order of Wow!ness
Spitfire MkVB
