Ouch. I can't un-see that. Pretty disturbing picture.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
It's very rare - but I've seen an U14 rider last year who ended up with several large splinters from a crash on the old Manchester track. Nasty.

Me neither - I found her story when searching for the other 2!

They ought to try to come up with some way of preventing the wooden boards splintering. I don't know how they would do it... Some kind of bonding material injected into wood at high pressure perhaps? The challenge would be to come up with something that still rode like a conventional wooden board.
